Our core sectors
Our team of dedicated engineers, architects, designers and project managers bring many decades of experience to your project. We have built up a diverse portfolio, working for some of the world's largest brands, as well as dynamic and ambitious disruptors and start-ups.
Our projects largely fall into six categories – food and beverage, self storage, distribution, direct to consumer, advanced manufacturing and energy generation – cared for by project managers who have a wealth of expertise and experience across all these sectors.
The UK's largest manufacturing industry is booming - UK consumers spent 203 billion GBP on food and drink in 2016, and the trend looks set to continue. The Pentadel team has a wealth of specialist expertise in this sector, having delivered pioneering facilities for a range of market leading clients, including Hello Fresh, Dairy Crest, Charlie Bighams and PizzaGoGo. Whether you need a cold store, a distribution centre, a new or extended production facility or the complete development of a green or brown field, the Pentadel team can take your project from initial concept through the entire project lifecycle - leaving you with a facility that’s not only fit for purpose, but which is fit for your future growth.
Self Storage continues to present itself as a growth sector, with new technology and alternative store concepts presenting further opportunities for operators and startups to deliver facilities. Our expert team has a wealth of experience in the design, cost, and operation of these different models, working with national operators such as Safestore as well as regional and smaller businesses.Whether it’s a new build, repurpose, or an extension, we’re able to provide a full multi-disciplinary service offering, from feasibility to fully designed construction project delivery, making us unique in the sector. Our construction management route facilitates a new build delivery up to 25% quicker than traditional routes, making it more cost-effective with a quicker route to market.
Our team is experienced in supporting retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers with the creation of distribution facilities that deliver an efficient and cost-effective logistics operation. Our unique service model comes into its own in these projects, where our collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach often brings about a huge reduction in expected construction costs, through the simplification of the process, layout and design of internal operations. Our biggest project to date is a 1 million square foot warehouse, one of the UK’s biggest buildings, delivered on time and budget for leading retailer B&M. We have also worked with Phillip Dennis Food Service, Lidl and Hello Fresh.
In today’s uncertain world, energy resilience is becoming a business imperative, and we’re increasingly supporting clients in their endeavours to secure their energy supplies for the long term. We are also passionate about exploring more sustainable means of powering industrial facilities in partnership with our clients. If you are planning the development of a stand-alone energy facility – or perhaps your permits require you to make such an investment to power your other industrial or commercial operations – our team can support you, from initial concept through construction to completion. The Pentadel teams holds experience delivering energy generation projects for brands including Tyrrells Crisps, Tata Steel, Shell, and BSkyB.
We are on the cusp of an Industry 4.0 revolution. A brave new world where computers and technology are connecting and communicating to share real-time data for a more efficient, productive and safer factory and supply chain. Yet the ultimate dream of this Connected Factory, as it is known, where processes end-to-end are interconnected, streamlined and optimised through technology, still feels a long way off for many manufacturers. There is however a world of opportunity out there, and we’re experienced in helping our clients - such as KP Snacks and Montana Bakery - to decide how and where to integrate technology in to their operations to achieve their objectives.
D2C is now a go-to business model for many new dynamic start-ups and disruptors in sectors as diverse as pet care, pharmaceuticals, floristry and FMCG. We are excited to have worked with a number of new D2C businesses and brands helping to design and deliver fulfilment centres to meet the demands and quick turnaround expected by customers. A D2C facility, often a hybrid between manufacturing, assembly and distribution needs to be a highly efficient, integrated and robust operation, so there is no margin of error. We have expertise and experience delivering such state-of-the-art facilities for DC2 clients including Bloom & Wild, Echo Pharmacy, Butternut Box and Hello Fresh.
Every day we help our clients to make huge changes to their business operations.
