Design principles

Design is at the heart of all our projects

Our approach is client, process and place driven. We have adopted the following five principles that drive the design of all of our work:

Context

Each site we work with has a unique context with its own history and character. Our proposals seek to recognise, respond and propose a locally specific addition.

The Site

We believe that both the building and the wider site are equally important. We are mindful of our neighbours, of how we treat the boundary and the quality of the journey to work. How can we improve the day to day lives of the people that live nearby and work within our buildings?

Sustainability

We recognise that the buildings we design are for a specific use and are typically organised by the manufacturing process that happens within them. As responsible designers, our challenge is to find new ways to create industrial buildings that are environmentally responsible. We are keen to avoid “bolt-on green architecture” and instead create buildings with longevity that are built to stand the test of time.

Well planned workspaces & employee welfare

We believe that collaboration and productivity across a workforce occurs within an equally shared and uplifting working environment. Rather than separating production and office staff, our projects seek to find ways to promote collaboration between all.

Daylight

Our approach to building form is to find innovative ways to bring natural light into all areas. Our ambition is to ensure that people are working in day-lit spaces with an awareness of the time of day and the seasons outside.

Every day we help our clients to make huge changes to their business operations.

Our case studies give insight into how Pentadel adds value to our customers.
