We are looking for a Construction Manager with food industry experience to join our growing team, working with renowned clients throughout the UK.
The right candidate will have strong experience in setting up and managing a construction site, working in direct contact with clients as well as with contractors and partners across a variety of disciplines. You must have experience in maintaining good policies and processes, and must be able to communicate effectively with all parties involved in the project. This role will require a high level of professionalism and confidence in project management, and an ability to establish and maintain a safe, collaborative and efficient culture on site.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience of overseeing the construction of complex multi-disciplinary facilities - ideally food factories - between the value of £0.5M and £50M
The ideal candidate may also have experience assisting in running the commercial aspects of such projects
A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from dealing with strategic issues at concept stage, through all of the construction stages to completion and post-project review
Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
Excellent knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering, particularly in an industrial context
People management experience in the context of managing medium to large sized site teams (e.g managing contractors and the design team)
Ability to travel to projects based across the UK
Key Required Attributes:
Minimum five years' experience in the construction industry - ideally with solid experience in the food and beverage sector
Have evident track of record working in similar roles in the construction industry; we're interested in hearing from not only experienced Construction Managers but also ambitious Site Managers or Site Agents who are looking to progress
Good or excellent working knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regulations
Experience assisting in running the commercial aspects of a construction project is desirable but not essential
Must be SMSTS-certified and with an unwavering commitment to safe practices on site
Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively work with and influence all those involved in a project
